About The Air Conditioning Dealer Association

The Air Conditioning Dealer Association membership consists of specialist contractors committed to providing air conditioning systems to suit the needs of their clients in a professional, courteous manner that makes them leaders in the industry.

Our History

The ACDA was originally formed in the early 1980's as the Carrier Dealer Association (CDA). Carrier Air Conditioning had a well-established independent dealership structure in Sydney, which was growing across Australia.

A few of the larger Carrier Independent Dealers in Sydney, the Central Coast, NSW Country areas and Canberra got together and formed the CDA.

As time progressed and other manufacturers emerged in the market place, alliances with manufacturers changed amongst the Members and the Association's name changed to the Air Conditioning Dealer Association (ACDA).

In 1996 the ACDA was incorporated and now has Members representing a range of major brands.

Our Charter

The ACDA charter evolved from the the original intent of providing balance in the market place between the major manufacturer and the major Independent Dealers to using the combined market presence of its Members to put forward a high standard of workmanship, ethical dealings and business structures, which provides specialist engineered heating and cooling solutions with long term support and after sales service.

To this end the ACDA has established a Code of Ethics, Guarantee, and workmanship standard and is recognised by the consumer as providing a more secure purchasing option. This not only benefits the consumer and ACDA Members, but the Industry as a whole.

Additionally, by offering a range of major brands through independent well-established Dealers the consumer not only has the option of a secure purchasing decision, but also has a choice of brand within a competitive, ethical network of Air Conditioning Specialist Contractors.

The ACDA's CODE OF ETHICS

  • To be honest and ethical in all dealings with their clients, submitting quotations in a manner that will enable a fair appraisal of the system offered.
  • To offer installations carried out by licensed personnel representing value for money.
  • To provide products from major suppliers that have a reputation for quality and service.
  • All association members adhere to ACDA "Approved Standards" in their dealings with their clients.

The ACDA's Guarantee

Should an ACDA member fail to complete or install the product to ACDA Standards, the ACDA will engage the services of a Chartered Engineer to investigate, report and advise the client of any defects or shortcomings of their installation.

Workmanship Standards

The purpose of establishing a Standard for ACDA Members and the Consumer is to provide a benchmark in the standard of dealing and installation.

The Standard sets a benchmark in the Industry and ensures the Consumer will receive excellent value for money, an economical system and correctly engineered product.
